Understanding how i am learning?
I thought it might be interesting to track the sources i am using to acquire information and log exactly sources what contributes to my learning and how i go about my learning. In doing so i hope to highlight areas of strengths and weaknesses in the methods i use in which to improve the way i learn. We are living in a digital age in which we can access information without even getting out of bed with the just a click of a finger. Personally i don't think that we necessarily learn better/understand better but it is just much more convenient and effortless to access sources of information.
The internet and computers make up the majority of my learning approaches, it is the first port of call nowadays when i need to know something. however i think there are alot of other good resources i can utilise and doing this log will make me more aware of the kind of sources i am accessing and hopefully prompt me to try something new.
Please note: If not written here these sources are discussed in the learning blog!

- Wooden Toys that work (This was a really nice book with some good ideas for some cam toys however they were a little advanced for my skill level. they would be quite a major project just making one and i don't think i would cover enough of the subject making a model and be concentrating more on manufacturing than learning how it works. I also couldn't really apply my knowledge of mechanical systems to the diagrams as its quite early on in my research and i don't know enough yet, i could however refer back to them later)

- Discussion with Amy and Kelly ( It was good having a talk with some other doing the same topic, t was interesting to hear about how differently they were approaching it and the different types of learning the were trying. One of the had made a really complicated paper cam toy, however said that the effort to make outweighed the actual learning which mirrored my friars i had with the cam toys i wanted to make at the beginning)
